Global Warming...Pfeh!

During the night of Dec. 3rd and part of the day on the 4th, Old Man Winter decided to dump a big 'ole bucket of snow on us; 30-40 cm worth (for the S.I challenged, that's 12-16''). The cleaning crews were not on alert even if they knew this was coming and so, they waited for the rush hour traffic to start basic cleaning (a big loader with side shovels that only pushes the shyte to the sides of the street - so instead of a 45 minute commute, it turned into three and a half hour because the streets went from 3 lanes to 1!) What are the results from said early morning cleaning...these huge snow banks.

The City promised a swift clean-up of the first major 'storm' of the Its-Not-Technically-Winter-Yet 2007 season...and that, I've gotta see! For now, we are playing..."Dude, where/how do we park?" Mind you, the fundamental question becomes..."Do we have enough room to drive?" Holiday Spirit...yeah, up yours!

I live in an area notorious for the absence of basic snow removal. For some bloody reason, the length of the city block were I am seems to be surrounded by an invisible containment field, powered by a miniature black hole. As such, the rest of the street will be cleaned 'cept for our little neck of the woods! I'll keep a log going...we'll see how long it takes!
For now, we're stuck like this poor bastard.

I can't wait for the next one...Bah! Humbug.
