The Changing of the Guard.

History was made in the good 'ole US of A. Tonight, an African-American was voted in as the 44th President of the Republic. Over the next several while, we will be inundated with all sorts of historical references from Abraham Lincoln to Rosa Parks. If it's closely (or not) related to Race and Colour, it will be heard. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if the good Rev. Jesse Jackson tries to re-ignite his claim to fame by mentioning that he paved the way for a generation of young black Americans to aim high and reach for the Presidency.

America will now be walking the tightrope of a deeply divided Nation. On one side, you will find bigots thriving on racial tensions, Nay-Sayers who are just looking for excuses and the
I-Told-You-So's who are getting ready to rub it in our faces. These people are arrogant and narcissists who believe in the inherent Superiority of their Race. Now, the "enemy" has been put into office with the help of traitors.

The other side is the complex human tapistry that make up the United States. Immigrants have crossed over America's borders; legally or not. They've helped build that country into the Powerhouse that it has become. They've seeked out a land filled with Milk and Honey, Salvation and Hope. Most got with the program but some could not because of skin colour. They grew up with fear and violence. Now, the "saviour" has been put into office with the help of benefactors.

Do you see the obvious. One side; Hate. The other; Revenge. The shit's gonna hit the fan, fast. The new President will be making lots of enemies, from both sides, I'm afraid.
You can't make everybody happy all the time. I hope he has a Plan to mend the United States (Oh! the Irony) and good security.

President-Elect Obama will need all the help he can muster to "S
ummon a new Spirit" because not only does he have to fix all of Dubya's stupidities but he also has to make lots of folks in the USA take a badly needed time-out. Thems' some mighty big shoes to fill, Mr. Obama. I wish you luck, strength and foresight. I hope you REALLY heard the voices of the American People, it would be wise to heed them...lest you go down in history as the Fool who replaced the Retard.

Poor Senator McCain, I guess his choice for a running mate just couldn't help bridge the gap! Hey wait a minute...now that Sarah Palin's 15 minutes are finally up, does that mean Tina Fey's are as well?
