If anybody's been reading my blog, they might recall that I wrote about the Curse of the Underdog, right after last years Superbowl. To briefly recap; whichever team I root for (especially the underdog) will loose, no matter what. The reverse is also true; if I change my mind and go for the sure bet, they will loose....prime example, last year's New-England debacle.
Just ahead of yesterday's SB, I predicted Steelers by 10 points. They managed to wrestle the victory out of the Cards hands at the last minute but they won!! We've (the lads and I) been getting together, on Superbowl Sunday, for the last twenty or so years. At first it was a perfect drinking opportunity but now it's a gathering of old friends, sharing food, stories and good times. I can safely say and they'd back me up, that this is only the second time that I've picked the winning team on game day!
So, does this mean that the Curse is lifted....nah, 'cause I see a pattern emerging, it's a 10 year cycle...note to self!
A very special thanks to Al & the family for putting good food in our bellies. I had a great time! A big shout-out to the Sunshine Boys, we should do this again, soon.
